Class Overview

In Grade 5 at BrightHills Elementary, students refine their academic skills as they prepare for the transition to middle school. This year focuses on reinforcing and expanding their knowledge base and critical thinking skills across all subject areas. Students are encouraged to become more self-sufficient learners, taking initiative in their studies and beginning to manage their time and projects with greater independence. The curriculum is designed to challenge students with more complex material, especially in mathematics and science, while also deepening their understanding of literary analysis and writing. Collaborative projects and leadership opportunities are introduced to enhance their problem-solving abilities and social skills, preparing them for the increased demands of middle school.
